Bulletproof coffee has been a raved since Dave Asprey, an American entrepreneur and author, posted its recipe on social media in 2010. He invented this recipe after drank Tibetan yak butter tea while hiking in Tibet mountainside in the mid-2000-s.

This recipe contains 3 main ingredients, a cup of brewed hot coffee, grass-fed butter, and medium-chain triglyceride or well known as MCT oil, which is derived from 100% pure coconut oil. Dave Asprey even has invented a specific brand for this innovation and turn it into a multimillion dollars business. According to, this combination gives you several impacts, like suppressed hunger which will keep you full until lunch, steady lasting energy, and also mental clarity. Paleo and low carb dieters couldn’t stop talking about it and consume it as a replacement for high carbs breakfast. Even though we don’t believe in diet, but this magic potion works so well to pump your energy up.

In the bulletproof coffee recipe, has mentioned that people need to use high-quality Arabica beans. It has to be grown in high elevation sites, rainforest certified, and also tested for mycotoxins and mold. They also only use grass-fed butter or ghee because it’s higher in essential nutrients. It also contains omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants and will stabilize your energy for hours. MCT Oil held the most important ingredients of all. Coffee, MCT oil, and grass-fed butter might give you an instant alternative boost, but your body still needs nutrients from carbohydrates, protein, fiber vitamins, and also minerals, which those ingredients do not have.

Saturated fat can be a part of a healthy diet, but you must consume it in a reasonable portion. Bulletproof coffee is also high in saturated fat. There are some concerns about a high intake of saturated fat that might cause heart disease, so consume it mindfully!
